Lesson 2 – Pause Breath
Parents:
Please read the following instructions to your child while he/she practices pause breath. Practicing this technique enables your child to learn how to manage emotions and become present and calm.
Instructions:
- Stop what you are doing and take a moment to pause.
- Place a hand on your chest and close your eyes.
- Take a few deep breaths. Feel the rise and fall of your hand on your chest.
- Do this deep belly breathing for a minute to help slow down your mind and body – Start with 30 seconds for younger children (Kindergarten and Grade 1 – about 3 deep, slow breaths in and out)
