Lesson 3 – Sun Pose

Parents:
Please read the following instructions to your child while he/she practices the sun pose.
Tip: It’s helpful to use a calm voice and slow pace

Instructions:

  • Stand tall and straight
  • Look straight ahead
  • Reach your arms up to the sky (think: reach for the sun!)
  • Hold your palms together
  • Keep your whole body as straight as possible (like a pencil or sun rays).
  • Say “I am the sun.”

While you hold the sun pose, practice the Extended Exhale technique from Lesson 1. Hold your pose for 3-5 breaths before you release.
Parents: Please count with your child.

Practice this pose once a day or as many times as you wish.

Challenge: close your eyes while you hold your pose. Make sure you keep your balance and a straight body.
