The Danube is the second longest river in Europe. This is a famous waltz composed by Johann Strass II in 1867. A waltz is a type of music which people dance to. Waltz follows a 3 beat rhythm. It started in the late 18th century in Germany. Some ballets also feature waltz music.

Parents: While watching and listening to the video, please discuss the following questions with your child.
- How many instruments do you see? Can you name some of the instruments?
- Can you hear the 3 beat rhythm in the waltz? (e.g. count 123, 123, 123 while you listen.)
- Can you think of some words to describe the dance? (e.g. elegant, graceful, beautiful, glide, spin, steps)
